How To Get Purple Primer Plastic Pipe Off Vinyl Tile?
I spilled a little of this purple primer used for connecting plastic pipe on vinyl floor tile. Nothing worked to remove it. Any secrets?

use clear primer, sparingly. Trust me on this. If it’s a 12 x 12 tile why not just replace that tile?
kind of like fighting fire with fire, but with no purple in it. =)
M.E.K.— Methyl Ethyl Ketone
Well like wut these other guys said, if MEK dont work, nothing will. Well nothing that wont damage your floor. That primer is made to basically penetrate the pvc and give the pvc a clean surface area for a good bond. That stuff will penetrate most plastics, including vynil. Chances are its there for good. Best thing to do is throw a floor mat over it.
The only thing that will possibly work is acetone it is the base of what the primer is, without the dye in it. Or finger nail polish remover. Good Luck
Brian is correct on this. I had a helper who dribbled purple primer on a customer’s kitchen floor. Clear primer took it off so well that she was unable to locate the spot where the spill had occurred. A little at a time – don’t drench it. Good luck.
I have used a lot of it and never heard of anything that will remove it. It seems to etch into any surface it touches.
Try Goo Gone. If that won’t do it, I don’t know.
