Are There Any Waterproof Flooring Options That Are Environmentally Friendly?
I was thinking about vinyl/resilient flooring, but it doesn’t appear to be safe for the environment which is a turnoff. I need something that can survive dogs and occasional fish tank overflows. Would linoleum (not to be confused with vinyl) hold up to that? I’d also prefer something that doesn’t need professional installation (I’ve heard that ceramic tile is a nightmare to install yourself).

ceramic type tiles are difficult and expensive to install. if its just a fish tank overflow that is controlled and cleaned quickly — try bamboo its about $2- a sq ft – and very eco-friendly also one of the most hardest woods out there so bring on the dogs. good luck
Hardwood is affected by changes in humidity and is not recommended for wet areas. Vinyl and linoleum are practical choices that are easy on the feet and offer copious styles and colors. Many laminate floors are water-resistant, but you should check the warranty to be sure what is and is not covered.
