I was thinking about vinyl/resilient flooring, but it doesn’t appear to be safe for the environment which is a turnoff. I need something that can survive dogs and occasional fish tank overflows. Would linoleum (not to be confused with vinyl) hold up to that? I’d also prefer something that doesn’t need professional installation (I’ve heard that ceramic tile is a nightmare to install yourself).

Need to replace my stinky living room carpet, ruined by pet urine, tried cleaning it and nothing works. Has anyone tried an environmentally friendly carpet? Hardwood floor leads up to the carpet, so I can’t go with bamboo or anything because it’d look weird to have two different woods in the same area. The room is probably 8′x16′.

So I am worried about the panelling getting slightly moist, I could plexiglass the screens, but that would be too permanent. Maybe use a heavy duty clear plastic to cover the screens, and staple here and there. I just bought plastic bamboo to shades to cover the screens. The floor is cement, just painted with heavy duty epoxy paint. There is a high unfinished ceiling. Any ideas? I am a single woman.

will the motar cement stick to the vinyl and will the grout not crack if it is not laid over cement board

I am wanting to get new floors in my house b/c my dog has frequent accidents and I have carpet now. I want to know what is the best floor that if a dog does pee, and it stays for a while it wont mess it up. I thought mabey bamboo I just really dont know. Help

The room is almost a super pale yellow/linnen color with hard wood floors. The I have an iris and some bamboo, a Live Laugh Love chinese picture, some books, and a green and white leaf pattern chair. The vibe is natural/hippy. I want to do something cool on top of the hutch that would add to the room but I dont know how to decorate this. Any suggestions?

Color names are chosen to make colors more desirable, and vary from company to company and product to product. These days, there’s not much call for lime green and hot pink, so they tend to call them other things like tranquil green and trembling rose (these are just examples made up off the top of my head, just as most color names are just made up someone). So yes, it’s out there, it just has a different name. Don’t trust color names. So far I have found three different distributors with three distinctly different colors called Linen White.

I removed my sandal and cleaned the local with alcohol, and then the floor. I noticed that the innards were white. I did some searching, and heard people describe roaches as acidic, in their novels and what not. It scared me really. I mean, the possibilities. Any suggestions? You should see the dent in the floor. It’s like a scratch, about half an inch long, and 1/4 inch wide. Glossy finish, and about an 1/8 inch flooring in some places, gone. Oval shaped memory. It defaced my floor.

For the most part the tiles have stuck pretty well, but there a few trouble spots. I have tried several glues and adhesives but nothing seems to be working. I don’t want to spend the time pulling them up because to be honest it took us a long time to put them down. I guess we are looking for a quick, easy fix. Any suggestions are welcomed.

Im renting, and my chair made 4 deep dents in the carpet, is there anyway to remove them? The last place I lived had different carpet and with enough vacuuming, they came up. This is a different carpet (not sure what kind) an Ive vacuumed over them a few times, and no luck.
Any suggestions?
