The bedroom is about 15×15 and probably needs the carpet and padding replaced. What is a general price range to have someone do this?

My floor was damaged by the previous owners and now my floor looks fillthy and no matter what i use it wont come clean, how do i strip the wax off to get the floor clean and then rewax the floor?

We are considering buying a steam carpet cleaner instead of a vacuum, since we live in the country and our carpets get quite dirty? Does anyone know if this will work? I have read you should vacuum first and then steam clean. But we don’t want to buy both and we don’t have a lot of storage space. Thank you for any answers.

i am about to move out of my apt. i have animals and they destroyed part of the carpet. i think the apt might charge me to replace the carpet. anyone know how much it would cost? i paid 200 for a security deposit. would they just take that or would they charge me extra? the carpet wasn’t new when i first moved in so i don’t think it’ll be fair for them to charge me the whole amount to replace the carpet. anyone know what the process is?

I hastily chose a light / white vinyl sheet flooring for the kitchen to my regret. I’m thinking about tinting or painting every other square if it’s possible.

I lived in Los Angeles county. I heard that after 5 years or 7 years, the landlord have to replace the carpet if he didn’t replace after you have lived for 5 or 7 years, the landlord can’t deduce money for the carpet or painting. So please let me know is it 5 years or 7 years?

I have a sheet of vinyl in my entry way. I need a temporary fix, until I can replace the carpet. Can I pull up the vinyl without disturbing the molding around it, place a thin sheeting down and then lay vinyl peel and stick tiles? My reasoning for the sheeting is that peel and stick are so hard to remove, I want to be able to lift them when I replace the carpet and put some permanent flooring down. Will this last for the year or longer if need be?

I have a kitchen floor with linoleum that is over 30 years old. It needs to be replaced quickly and I would like to do it in a way that is most cost effective. I plan on moving in about three years, but want something presentable yet cheap in the meantime. I’m figuring a decent vinyl “wood” flooring would do the trick. I read on homedepot.com that is sticks right over the old flooring and there about 20 reviews (all from people who said it works great and has been like that for several years). My concern is, will it stick to the old linoleum right off the bat? There are some spots where the linoleum ripped off and you can see the wood flooring tile from underneath. Will that cause a dip? Also, what about the edges which are curling up? I suppose I could just trim that off? Thank you for your help!

350 sq ft living room – what’s a fair price to be charged to include carpet removal, labor laminate (which is the cheapest flooring) installation? I’m getting lots of varrying quotes! It’s for a rental in Los Angeles. How about if I were to replace it with high-grade, nice carpet? Current one is nice but really damaged from tennant.

The cat urinated on various spots on our carpet and the smell irritates me, so I decided to replace the carpet. Should I replace the padding as well to help keep the urine smell away?
