Any Problem Installing Laminate Flooring Directly (no Underlay) Over Vinyl Kitchen Floor That Is Over Dry Wood

Author: The salesman says to use a plastic sheet and/or thin foam underlay but offers no persuasive reason to do so other than the floor might be quieter. My subfloor is dry wood over a full basement. I can see no valid reason for the added underlay and expect to install without it unless someone can offer a good reason for its use.

Problem: Putting A Bamboo Laminate Floor Over Concrete?
I want to coat the cement slab with Red Guard waterproofing & crack compound to 93 mills. After it dries, I will roughen it up so I can glue the bamboo wood laminate to it. Does this solution make sense?

Which Type Of Vinyl Flooring Is The More Economical Choice Math Problem?
The Johnson’s are finishing their basement laundry room and intend to install a vinyl floor. The dimensions of the room are 6m by 4m. Self-adhesive vinyl tiles cost $1.47 per (12” by 12”) tile. Vinyl flooring is cut from a roll and is $11.99 per square yard. For the roll-cut vinyl flooring, a $13.99 can of floor adhesive is required. Each can cover approximately 38 square yards. Which type of vinyl flooring is the more economical choice?
