I spilled some yellow acrylic paint on my brown vinyl floor and have tried hair spray, and it did not work and then I tried dawn and it did not work and I did it right away, what can I do to get all the stain out.???

We are buying a 5,000 sq ft house and are having to pay a lot of money to put down new carpeting. Eventually, I will put hardwood in the kitchen/ dining areas. But, I will need to wait 6 months to a year. The vinyl is the roll kind, not tiles. The “loud” black & white checks and very distracting with my decor. I just want to paint it brown. I need a cheap quick fix that doesn’t have to last but a few months. Can I use latex? Has anyone had success with this?

Hey. I found a really cute Town Loft on Craigslist that I am moving into next week. It has light colored Bamboo Hardwood floors and I am kinda puzzled as to what paint color would look good on the walls. I’d like to get a rich colored shag rug keeping a modern feel throughout with a modern sectional sofa…. Any focal point ideas…or wall color ideas??

Light bamboo floors.
White trim
We were thinking a creamy taupe mixed with either a burgundy red, dark chocolate, or gold tone. If we do select a red, I was thinking a white crown moulding would be the only way to go..The GF wants both the red and the chocolate, but I fear this will turn the room into a cave… Help….

I painted my bathroom yesterday, and a little paint got on the floor. How do I get it off?

We are painting our living/dining room. The overall theme of the house will be harlem renaissance meets palm beach chic. The major color scheme will have chocolate brown/gray//bronze with punches of orange/red/purple/sage through out the house. I want a warm, sultry and sensuous feeling that flows beginning with our living/dining room. This a great room with 2 windows at one end of the room that faces a large window at the other end. We will also be replacing the door that leads to the deck with a single french door. There will be plenty of light in the room. The room also has a stone fireplace. I am at a dilema as to what color to put on the wall. We have wainscoting (it will have to stay). What color should I paint the wall? I do not want white wainscoting. I have that now and hate it. Our floors will be a dark walnut wood (possibly bamboo) floor. I am all for dark and dramatic. This room has to sing since we will be putting on the market in the next two years and it will be a feature room in the house.

I have a shabby looking commercial vinyl tile floor. Kind of stained and dulled. I heard somewhere that you can paint over it. How do I prepare it so that the paint will stick?

I hastily chose a light / white vinyl sheet flooring for the kitchen to my regret. I’m thinking about tinting or painting every other square if it’s possible.

I am looking for a colour that would look good with black furniture and light-medium blue/brown coloured bedding. The carpet is currently gray but we may choose bamboo flooring instead in the near future.
Also, I am hoping to purchase Benjamin Moore paint, so paint name suggestions would be great!
