Whats The Best Method To Install Vinyl Tile Flooring In An Old House?

Author: My wife and I decided to redo the kitchen floor with 1 foot vinyl self-adhesive tiles. After research, it said to try a leveling compound on the old floor so the design wont show through the new tile. Well, it didnt really work that well 
And it was decided to tear out the old sheet vinyl floor. Now we have 1/4inch plywood subfloor with all kinds of bumps of glue and old pieces of sheet tile all over. After research, the options are: Rip up the subfloor and put down new plywood or install luan over the old subfloor. We arent going to be in this house for long, a couple years at most and we were looking to improve the kitchen a little bit. Now this happened 
Trying to keep cost in mind, whats the best route? The tiles were only 39 cents a piece!! Hehe. Are there other options?

What’s The Best Method To Remove Carpet Adhesive To Refinish A Floor?
I’ve hauled up carpet before and just sanded & urethaned the floor. I want to do it now but there is glue all over the floor under the carpet though its nice hardwood. I’ve been researching it online but I find two answers, mineral spirits and sanding.
What is the best method and are there any special considerations for getting the glue off?

What Is The Best Method For Cleaning Bamboo Flooring?
Don’t wet mop it, it can warp the floor. It is best to use a pad type cleaning system like the WOW hardwood floor cleaner or any of their competitors products.
If you are a glutton for punishment you can get down in your hands and knees and wipe the floor down with a damp rag.

What Method Of Carpet Cleaning Can Be Done Without Damaging Fine Art Paintings?
I’m arranging carpet cleaning for a customer who has an extensive amount of fine art paintings in his home. Is there a certain method of carpet cleaning that is safe for use around artwork (I’m afraid that steam cleaning or chemicals may damage the artwork), or will we just have to move it all out before the carpets are cleaned?
Best Method To Install Bamboo Flooring On Concrete?
I recently bought bamboo flooring, not laminate, it’s 4 inches wide and 37 3/4 inches long. I’ve read of two methods for installing on concrete, either with a urethane glue, or floating type floor and gluing the joints as you assemble.
Which method is the best method? The room is about 350 sq ft, and about 200 sq ft of hallway. I would like to do this myself.
