We are remodeling our bathroom. We are unsure of what kind of flooring to put in. We were going to put tile in, until we noticed that the floor is not very level, so we are afraid of the tiles lifting. So then we thought linoleum, but we want the floor to hold up and not look cheap. So would vinyl flooring be the way to go? And are there different grades of vinyl?

- What color paint would you do?
- Would you use two tones?
- What are some coordinating colors?
- What kind of furniture (style and color)
I want white furniture, but I’m not sure if it will look weird. I like wood furniture too, but my closet and two bookcases, windows, etc, are white. I’m getting bamboo floors installed, a medium color. This is a teen room by the way, so let me know of any recommendations! Thanks (:

I have a little 3×5 brown and beige zebra striped pottery barn rug in here, but I want to move it into my bedroom because my mom painting some amazing zebra paintings for it, and the rug simply goes with my decor in there. I love that this rug is a little eccentric in my living room- that it’s mismatched in a matching kind of way. I need to do this with another rug. I’m really drawn to cream flokati rugs, and it’d be a nice neutral in here (because my paintings are very colorful). But I’m going to be honest, I know what I like and I know that I have absolutely no idea what matches or goes with what or looks best. I was also considering a black and white floral toile rug, but would that look terrible considering I have dark brown bamboo floors and a dark brown couch? What other rug suggestions do you have you tasteful people!? Thank you ahead of time.

I have a Bissell steam cleaner and use quality carpet shampoo. I also pre-treat. It looks clean right after shampooing, but within a week or so, it looks worse and worse! I have Dupont Stainmaster carpet – top of the line stuff.

The technology for vinyl plank flooring has been around for quite awhile. They are very durable and suitable for many homes on the market today. You should compare prices and make a decision based on a reasonable budget. You need to figure out the TOTAL cost for each option. Hardwood is expensive and labor intensive. Sanding is a mess. Stain and urethane can be a very powerful odor, enough to make you nausea and have severe headaches. Odor subsides within a couple of days though. Vinyl floors or floating floors typically need a thick membrane between it and the sub floor. Not much of an expense but it should be factored in when making your decision. They both will need shoe mold or quarter round. The hardwood process will span several days, the laminate should take 1 day, depending on the specific job. Although I can’t say for certain, I would expect hardwood to be several times more expensive.

The walls and carpet thing was not my fault. I knew what I wanted but my dad said that I might think it was stupid in about a year. The walls are beige and the floor is green, I have matching bedding- it’s kind of a cabana thing going on, I even have a bamboo curtain for my window that i’m going to put up. How do I make my room awesome? I have a lot of different tastes, I kind of want a gothic looking canopy from Hot Topic and I kind of want these hanging light things that are white flowers that light up. I definitley will put pictures up and maybe I could do something to the floor to hide it? Please help, I dont have much money but a birthday coming up and I really want a room that says me better. Im an 18 year old girl.

We’re considering getting Congoleum in the wood floor look because friends of ours have had theirs for 8 yrs. and it looks awesome. We ran across the Domco vinyl floor w/ the wood look and like it better because it comes in a wide plank version. Anyone have experience w/ Domco wood vinyl?

There is a lot of natural light coming through the windows and the skylight in this area. The cabinets are light colored oak and counter tops are beige. The floor is tiger strand bamboo (which has shade of light and dark browns mingled together). I also want to recover the cushions on my chairs after the walls are painted so if you could also suggest coordinating colors I would appreciate it.

I recently got my room repainted, and did some redecorating, but kept the same old carpet, after being wide-eyed at the cost to get it replaced. It’s in the bedroom, and a sort of barbie pink. I’m 14, by the way.
It’s had it’s wear and tear: cat puke, hamster pee, etc. I can’t afford to get it professionally cleaned, and it’s starting to look horrible.

I am moving out and need to have the floors in my apartment look ship shape. I have vinyl floors (I think). It looks like I have wooden floor boards but I am told they are proberly vinayl (all the plastic coating is long gone). How do I clean it – Help!
