Cost To Pick Up Vinyl And Lay Vinyl Or Laminate Floor In Kitchen?
How much does it cost to remove an old vinyl floor and replace with a laminate or new vinyl tile floor in a 200 square foot room? I would try myself, but there is what looks like a base board from a wall that the previous owner took out at the transition to the wood floor and I am scared to mess with it. Would it cost more to have them remove the base board too?
How Well Do Laminate Floors Hold Up With Dogs Compared To Wood Floors?
I want to put laminate or real bamboo floors in our kitchen. Laminate is easier to install, but I’m concerned the finish will be scratched up by the dog, same concern with the real bamboo, too.
The dog is about 50 pounds; he doesn’t dig or abuse the floors, but the back door and his food bowl are in there so he’s in the kitchen quite often.
Of anyone here has dogs and wood/laminate floors, I’d like to hear your experience with them.
Thanks.
Flooring Product With Easy Installation Like Laminate, Beauty Of Real Hardwood?
My husband and I would never attempt installing real hardwood flooring between the glue and all that. However, laminate (Pergo) is easy to install for us. Is there any product out there that is either real wood or bamboo or some other natural material that looks great yet still is just as easy to install like pergo (no glue). Thanks.

How Much Would It Cost To Replace Carpet With Laminate Flooring?
350 sq ft living room – what’s a fair price to be charged to include carpet removal, labor laminate (which is the cheapest flooring) installation? I’m getting lots of varrying quotes! It’s for a rental in Los Angeles. How about if I were to replace it with high-grade, nice carpet? Current one is nice but really damaged from tennant.

Vinyl, Laminate, Tiles Or Carpet Flooring? What’s The Best?
I have just bought a bungalow that needs renovating and I’m looking at flooring. I want a flooring that goes throughout the home to give an open appearance so needs to be hardwearing for the hallway and water proof for the kitchen and comfortable for the bedrooms as well as reasonably priced. I think vinyl flooring fits the bill but I’m just not sure what it will look like – does anyone have any experience or can offer helpful advice?
How Do I Ensure My Concrete Floor Is “flat” For Laminate Flooring?
I’m floating about 800 sq ft of bamboo over concrete. I have the entire area cleared of all previous flooring and fairly smooth. Now I’m trying to make sure it’s flat, but I’m not really sure exactly how to do this.I’ve read the “string method” but I’m not really sure how to find the high spot across such a wide area (about 30′x25′). The room has a closet and a hallway too (i.e. it’s not just square). I’ve also read about using a straight edge (like a 2×4), but when looking for gaps in 16ths of an inch, it seems a piece of 2×4 is not exact enough, even if I have a fairly “straight” piece of wood.
Other details: I tested for moisture using the plastic taped to the floor method and that seemed ok. The slab is about 25 years old and I live in a dry atmosphere (San Diego), so I think I’m ok with moisture and plan to use a 2in1 moisture barrier/foam padding.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated as I’m eager to start laying the flooring but don’t want to skimp on the prep work. Help!
