How Easy/difficult Is It To Replace Linoleum With Vinyl Flooring For A Kitchen?

Author: I have a kitchen floor with linoleum that is over 30 years old. It needs to be replaced quickly and I would like to do it in a way that is most cost effective. I plan on moving in about three years, but want something presentable yet cheap in the meantime. I’m figuring a decent vinyl “wood” flooring would do the trick. I read on homedepot.com that is sticks right over the old flooring and there about 20 reviews (all from people who said it works great and has been like that for several years). My concern is, will it stick to the old linoleum right off the bat? There are some spots where the linoleum ripped off and you can see the wood flooring tile from underneath. Will that cause a dip? Also, what about the edges which are curling up? I suppose I could just trim that off? Thank you for your help!

Buying A House With A Vinyl Floor In The Kitchen. Does The Vinyl Have To Be Removed If I Want To Install A?

Do I Need A Floor Board To Install Vinyl In Kitchen?
I have removed the old vinyl flooring from the kitchen (it was damaged) and after removing the old adhesive, I am left with the cement flooring. I have been reading about how to prep the floor and conflicting information is what’s out there. Is Cement enough? or do I need to place anything else on top of the cement to install the Vinyl?

I have a 18 x 18 foot “u” shaped kitchen, and a sheet vinyl floor would have to be done by a pro, to try and stay within budget, i am thinking of peel and stick vinyl tiles…..any thoughts?

What Color Should I Paint The Trim In My Kitchen, Black Maybe?
This is for the kitchen…We are going to paint the walls a rich tan called “cashmere”. The cabinets are being stained a deep red cherry color and the floors are bamboo that have the same color as the cabinets as well as dark striations in it. We are looking at doing a corian counter top with a beige theme. All the appliances are black.
The kitchen is large and open and the flooring is going into the adjacent room that will be painted a chocolate color, this is a game room/family room and it is also very large.
So the question is, what do you think about painting the trim in the kitchen BLACK? we really want some input on this. the rest of the house has cashmere paint and WHITE trim. The family room will be chocolate with white trim. we have been debating every aspect of this kitchen for months and it is getting tiresome.
We have brushed nickle hardware if that means anything to you and lots of windows.

Part Of My Kitchen Used To Be My Back Porch. The Floor Pitches By A Half Inch.?
What is the best method to level the floor? It clearly pitches at what was probably the doorway, and the rest of the floor is level. I want to install bamboo flooring, but need the sub floor to be level. What is the best way to level the floor?
Cost To Pick Up Vinyl And Lay Vinyl Or Laminate Floor In Kitchen?
How much does it cost to remove an old vinyl floor and replace with a laminate or new vinyl tile floor in a 200 square foot room? I would try myself, but there is what looks like a base board from a wall that the previous owner took out at the transition to the wood floor and I am scared to mess with it. Would it cost more to have them remove the base board too?

Need Advice On Countertop For New Kitchen?
We have maple cabinets w/ a light finish and bamboo floors in our kitchen. What kind of countertops should I buy? Also, what color would look the best with light cabinets and floors? Oh and the appliances are stainless (but not shiny).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
