Any Problem Installing Laminate Flooring Directly (no Underlay) Over Vinyl Kitchen Floor That Is Over Dry Wood
The salesman says to use a plastic sheet and/or thin foam underlay but offers no persuasive reason to do so other than the floor might be quieter. My subfloor is dry wood over a full basement. I can see no valid reason for the added underlay and expect to install without it unless someone can offer a good reason for its use.
Can I Use Vinyl Flooring On My Kitchen Counter Tops As A Temporary Fix?
We recently purchased a home that needs extensive remodel work. The first is my kitchen (had to buy a new stove for the island). We need to replace the existing counter top. My problem is that we need to do it now. I thought I saw something on t.v. on using vinyl square tiles on a kitchen counter top. If that could be done, I could have my kitchen up and running. Now, this is just a temporary, quick fix. Possibly using the vinyl counter top for about a year. After that it’s demolishing time and a complete remodel. Thank you!
My Kitchen Is Covered In Old Deep-cut Patterned Vinyl Floor Tiles Which Would Be Impractical To Remove.?
I wold like to lay a vinyl covering over the old tiles but the pattern may show through in time. If I used a levelling compound then whatever it sets against would be glued into it. Can anyone give me any advice, please?
Is It Normal To Have The Same Flooring Flow From The Living Room To The Kitchen?
I have a small space home that is currently carpet (living room) and vinyl flooring in kitchen. I hate carpet and am going to have laminate wood flooring put in, I was also going to have it run into the kitchen…would this be odd?
What Kind Of Countertop And Flooring Should I Use To Upgrade My Kitchen?
we want to replace our 13 year old kitchen countertop ( and vinyl flooring) to increase the resale value of our home, but we don’t plan to sell for around 3-4 years, so we don’t want to spend a lot, but we want something that will still look good in a few more years without spending a small fortune for something that we will not be getting a lot of use out of
What Is Better For A Kitchen Floor, Vinyl Or Tile?
I am looking at replacing my kitchen floor, which currently has carpeting. (Bought the house like that.) And now I am looking to do either vinyl or tile. I understand tile is good for a lifetime, where as vinyl is good for 15-20 years for the heavier kind, but tile is double the cost. We plan on staying in our house a long time, if not forever, but in the case we would decide to sell, would tile or vinyl give us more value?
What Type Of Flooring Would You Use In A Kitchen And Dining Room That Are Open And Connected?
I was going to use some wood look vinyl flooring, but after pricing it out, I’m not so sure. I know laminate isn’t right for the kitchen and I hate the feel of tile underfoot. What would you suggest? The kitchen and dining room are connected and there is no wall separating the 2 rooms.
Please and thank you!
What Is The Most Economical Flooring For A Kitchen?
Hey all you contractors out there….I need to install flooring in a kitchen that has been gutted. Hardibacker is about the only thing on it now. I have a limited budget, and am willing to get creative. Problem is, I have champagne taste on a beer budget! (Don’t we all?) Laminate is out of the question. I hate it. I like hardwood, but is it considered appropriate for a kitchen? I like stone and tile, but it’s expensive. The concrete flooring I’m seeing is BEAUTIFUL, but I can’t seem to figure out if it’s expensive to have installed, or not. Cork and bamboo, also attractive, but I don’t know how expensive it is. I’m in San Diego, if location has anything to do with it. Thanks for your advice!
What Type Of Flooring Is Easiest In Kitchen And Less Expensive That We Can Do Ourselves?
We have tile looking vinyl flooring right now. I love my floor but it has to go to add new cabinets, extra wall cabinets and a middle cabinet island. What have others did for their flooring that is easy and not too expensive. We have a good solid wood surface under (1) layer of vinyl flooring to work with. Thanks for any help and answers……
Anyone Tried A Vinyl Tile Floor Kitchen Backsplash?
