Can You Install Vinyl Flooring Without Glue?
I’m renting an apartment, and as a student I can’t afford anything great. The place I found is nice over all, but the bathroom is.. blah.
I’ve fixed the caulking around the tub, but the flooring is REALLY bugging me. However, installing new flooring could result in my loosing my damage deposit.
Since the floor is already beat up I’m not worried about having to nail or anything, but glue would mean there’d be no way to take the flooring back up.
Is this even worth doing? I know it won’t be correct, but will it work well enough
Can I Install A Laminate Floor Over Top Of An Existing Vinyl Floor?
And if so, do I still have to use padding under it? The existing floor is in really good shape, but it doesn’t match the room anymore.
How Much Should I Charge To Install 1,000 Sq Ft Of Laminate Flooring?
I will have to take out approximately 800 sq ft of carpet and some vinyl floor as well. It will be installed over concrete floors, I am not going to level the floor. I have specific instructions not to worry about that. There is some furniture to move. Any ideas of the cost would be greatly appreciated.
Whats The Best Method To Install Vinyl Tile Flooring In An Old House?
My wife and I decided to redo the kitchen floor with 1 foot vinyl self-adhesive tiles. After research, it said to try a leveling compound on the old floor so the design wont show through the new tile. Well, it didnt really work that well
And it was decided to tear out the old sheet vinyl floor. Now we have 1/4inch plywood subfloor with all kinds of bumps of glue and old pieces of sheet tile all over. After research, the options are: Rip up the subfloor and put down new plywood or install luan over the old subfloor. We arent going to be in this house for long, a couple years at most and we were looking to improve the kitchen a little bit. Now this happened
Trying to keep cost in mind, whats the best route? The tiles were only 39 cents a piece!! Hehe. Are there other options?
Can I Install Hardwood Flooring In My Basement Area?
I just recently picked up a batch of Armstrong red oak hardwood flooring for a fantastic deal – enough to cover the space in my entry way at the basement level of my townhouse. Unfortunately, I’ve heard it shouldn’t be done due to moisture issues. Is this so? I considered (to keep the moisture locked out) leaving the existing vinyl floor (it’s literally a part of the concrete floor it’s so well attached) and laying right over it. I’m aware there’s an adhesive I need, regardless. Can anybody offer up some suggestions? Thanks!

My cousin had vinyl flooring in his kitchen he took the vinyl off hilmself to replace it with tiles. he applied some cement first and then installed cement backerboards on the kitchen floor as underlayment for the tiles to make the surface even. Now that he tried to install the tiles he found that the surface is uneven still. any suggestions on how he can fix that.
We tried to put more cement beneath the tiles with uneven surfaces to make them all leveled but its a nightmare and is barely working.

To Install Vinyl Floors In A Bathroom Would I Need To Remove The Toilet?
I purchased 12×12 vinyl squares for my bathroom. I’m installing it over old lanolium. Will it look really bad if I DONT remove the toilet to install it? I am 5 feet tall, petite and not very strong so I don’t think I could get the toilet off by myself!
Should I Install Ceramic Tile On Top Of Existing Vinyl Floor?
I have a kitchen and two bathrooms with vinyl floor glued directly to a concrete slab. Do I have to remove the old vinyl, or can I leave it down and install the ceramic tile on top of it. I’ve heard that if the vinyl is secure, and if you rough it up with sand paper, you can leave it down…is that true? Please…professionals only…Thanks!
Do I Need A Floor Board To Install Vinyl In Kitchen?
I have removed the old vinyl flooring from the kitchen (it was damaged) and after removing the old adhesive, I am left with the cement flooring. I have been reading about how to prep the floor and conflicting information is what’s out there. Is Cement enough? or do I need to place anything else on top of the cement to install the Vinyl?
Thanks for your answers.
Jenny
