I’m a teen, 17, female.
I like in a condo so my room isn’t THAT big but it isnt like REALLY small either. I have wood/bamboo furniture (dresser,mirror,bed) and wood floor (medium brown). i have glass mirrors on my closet as well.
Right now my walls are a light greenish (spring leaf by Benjamin Moore) and i want to get a bed set that matches with it as well as curtains. i was thinking of getting this bed set:

i was thinking of painting one wall, like where my dresser/mirrior is and make it purple (not baby purple) (Scandinavian blue by Benjamin Moore) because i want to put my frames up for graduation and stuff there as well so itll stand out.
my room inst THAT big, so i dont know if that purple will make the room look smaller, but everything else is light so i don’t know.
please give your opinion/suggestions.

I’m 15 (Freshman In Highschool)
and I’m going to redo my room over spring break
(My room is currently a beach theme, but not like tacky beach, like fiji beach)
anyways I live in California and the budget is like 1,000 probably, and I don’t need any furniture because I have A TON, (it’s all white and very “clean cut chic”
my mom is an interior designer and my dad is an architect but they won’t help me with my room
I’m debating between light blue and black or lavender and chocolate brown
or I might do like a white room with a red wall (with a giant collage on it) and then like a zebra print rug or something
anyways, I HATE TACKY STUFF, that’s like the main thing haha
and my hardwood floors are like light wood (bamboo wood)
so any ideas?

Hey. I found a really cute Town Loft on Craigslist that I am moving into next week. It has light colored Bamboo Hardwood floors and I am kinda puzzled as to what paint color would look good on the walls. I’d like to get a rich colored shag rug keeping a modern feel throughout with a modern sectional sofa…. Any focal point ideas…or wall color ideas??

My daughter will be 1 and a half at christmas time. I would like at that time to redo her room because at this point she will most likely be ready to convert her crib to toddler bed and such. Right now her walls are light yellow on top ivory trim and chair rails, and sage green wainscoting on the lower half. I want to leave the wainscoting there and the chair rail. Her carpet is also sand colored burber, but that can be changed. I think I want to do a bamboo wood flooring with a large area rug. So my question is what theme should I choose? I dont want something generic and charectory. She hasnt ever seem TV and dosnt know who any of the cartoons are, so that isnt even an option. I want something fun and girly, but not froo froo over the top. I want it to be liveable and to grow with her until 5-6. Also I would like it to be a functional theme to sort of play off of/with. All that needs to stay in the room is her convertible crib/toddler bed, a bookshelf, and her dresser/change table.

I am having a graduation party at my house for all my senior friends. I am cleaning out my garage and covering all the walls with blue sheets and fabric. I want to cover the floor with sand but idk how much it is or if my dad approves. I am going to keep the garage doors open (the big ones where the cars come in) and hang paper lanterns in the door ways. I am going to use card board and paint bright signs that say beach this way and stuff like that.. I am also going to make a cardboard surf board with an ocean view on it. I am getting an inflatable palm tree and some flower petals to spread around. I am hoping to get round tables and cover the tops with blue or green table cloths and wrap a grass table skirt around each. For the tops of the tables I want to have either Hawaiian looking flowers or a coconut candle in the center surrounded by seashells. Also on the ceiling I want to have a blue sheer fabric with white Christmas lights. I will probably have a few beach balls laying around. My dad is making me this tiki bar (a cheap one) using plywood for the table top and using bamboo rods to hold up the top. I am planning on covering it the same way I will do the tables with a table cloth and grass skirt and a grass skirt also for the top (roof) of the tiki bar. I was going to make a little area where people could change but I don’t know how I could do that. I was going to make it out of fabric but I thought people could easily pull it open so it wouldn’t be too private. Oh yeah I was also going to get a fish net and hang it over the fabric wall and put fish and sea shells in it. Out side I want to have tiki torches, a sign, maybe balloons. We have this huge black tarp that we always use as a slip and slide, I know its kind of juvenile but it’s so much fun! I was thinking about renting a volley ball net, but I’m not sure about that yet. I was also going to have music playing in the garage to set a mood. For food I was going to have hot dogs, hamburgers, chips and salsa and drinks with cocktail parasols to serve at the tiki bar. For gift bags I was going to give stuff like seashell necklaces, ocean or coconut scented soaps and sprays, surf board key chains, maybe a cute notebook idk tell me if you have any ideas especially for guys. But yeah that’s about it if you have any ideas please let me know. If u have done a luau tell me how yours went thanks. I am buying my stuff from oriental trading, dollar tree and wall-mart.

i dont got much money, n i wanna layout my bedroom within a $200 amount. i just wanna small dresser, and i gotta air matress on da floor. i been sleepin on it for da past 10months i lived here, and its time for a change. i improved my living room a lot, but i wanna work on my bedroom. wut do yall think of them canopy beds? im thinkin about gettin one in a queen or full size. whats da cheapset way to getta canopy bed in good condition. r canopy beds any good? for da window, im gonna get them bamboo blinds, and i want a goldish color curtain for the window. i already gotta goldish color mirror, n i wanna getta a cheap, 3 or 4 drawer tall dresser. i dont wanna long one. just a small one. i also wanna getta cheap rug too. remember i only can use $200…so how do i do this?

I’d like to do a beach motif? The floor is linoleum with bamboo in it. It has a shower stall. The glass window is approx. 38″ wide and 38″ high. There is a mirror above two sinks then 1 mirror at garden tub. It’s in a modular home and the ceiling are catherdal like. Cabinets are a light beech color. Right now I have a warm coffee cotton rug runner in there. Sea shell curtains (peach, sea green, browns,lt blue, yellow)on glass block window. Skylight light is 2ft wide by 3ft long.

I’m trying to get opinions from people for things of which they think bamboo would make a good substitute in place of wood.
FYI: Bamboo is actually a grass and grows right back up through where it was cut so therefor it doesn’t need to be replanted and it grows back completely within 3 years. Using bamboo helps replace wood that might otherwise be coming from our precious Rain Forests.
Products already known and being made include: cutting boards, plywood, veneer, counter tops, picture frames, stair parts, flooring, paneling and moulding.
I need ideas of things practical and fairly easy to produce. I, myself, can recall from time to time throughout my daily life of times where I’ve thought, “wouldn’t it be great if they made this or that or what if this could be made with something more environmentally-friendly?” Bamboo is extremely strong. Stronger than a lot of wood types. So I’m asking if anybody here has had those same thoughts and has any ideas for bamboo. Thank You!

We live in a condo that we own, however, the balcony outside is made entirely of cement. The floor is grey and the ceiling and walls of the balcony are this hideous peach colour. This cannot be painted as it is in the condo agreement. It can however, be covered and we are trying to look for something to cover the peach that can easily be removed when we sell. I have just purchased some cheap bamboo blinds to hang on either wall for right now but it still does not look good. Any suggestions?
