I have trained dogs for many years and I trained my own service dog to boot. He does 55 commands, so although I don’t know everything, I have a pretty good clue with dogs.
I adopted a Shepherd from our local dog pound some 2 weeks after he had been found, on last Friday. Nobody claimed him. I went in and saw him during the week so he knew me.
He has attached himself to me alarmingly too much.
At first, I took him around town and today I left and came back to a broken front screen where he went through our window. A neighbor found him running back and forth in front of the house looking for us. She opened her van (like ours) and he went right in.
He was in a state of panic. Tonight I returned again and he pooped, tore blinds off, broke a bamboo room divider down, glasses all over the floor because he was on our counters, and he must have had an awful time. Back door open the entire time and he could have gone out.
I love him already. I fear he’s been terribly abused. more below

Is my ball python’s (Mike) cage big enough? Also, he’s shedding and all he has in is cage is paper towel flooring, a waterbowl, a place to hide, a fake tree, and fake bamboo to clime on. He doesn’t hae a heat pad, but he has a lamp, keeping the air tempature around 75-85 degrees. MY POINT IS is his cage big enough and does he have enough things in th cage? I’m sorry this things so long, I just really need to know so Mike stays healthly and all.

I have berber and it’s miserable, traffic stains every week. My dachshund is also a digger and has easily dug 2 holes in different areas. Although when the dogs shed you can barely see it in the carpet.
I also have a rug in the living room that attracts dog hair and is almost possible to clean up.
What is the best type to buy next time? Something thick? What color disguises traffic dirt and dog hair?

We were thinking a creamy taupe mixed with either a burgundy red, dark chocolate, or gold tone. If we do select a red, I was thinking a white crown moulding would be the only way to go..The GF wants both the red and the chocolate, but I fear this will turn the room into a cave… Help….

I have tried using strong bleach, but that does did not do any wonders. Any other ideas?

for the below reasons:
1. Provide more continuity since the kitchen is right “next door”.
Our wood floor in the kitchen is stained red oak.
2. Our carpet is badly stained (thanks to messy kids and naughty 5
lb. chihuahuas). We’ve been told hardwood floors are easier to keep
clean when having to wipe up after the Chihuahua (thank goodness
she is not a big breed).
3. We are hoping our Chihuahua doesn’t even soil the new hardwood
since all prior scents will be gone — and FYI she has never gone on
our hardwood throughtout the house (fingers crossed!)
So here, finally, is my question:
In speaking with several friends who are really involved with animal rescue and often foster cats and dogs until a home can be found for them — they have all recommended BAMBOO wood flooring. They say it is not as attractive to dogs with housebreaking issues — but easier to clean if there are any “accidents”. It is less expensive, but I wonder if it is durable and will last as long as traditional wood floors — and also would they be able to match bamboo with my existing kitchen red oak flooring?
Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!

Heavy Metal Bands

A couple notes:
1. I have recently (spring) took out carpet and installed a new bamboo floor. The subfloor is 3/4 plankingwith moisture barrier… 1/2 plywood with lick em tiles (House built in 1948), and 1/8″ Lauan…15#felt and 5/8″ bamboo. I don’t thik the moisture is coming up from the floor.
2. I have also recently (spring) changed the cold air return system. It used to have the returns cut out in the floor. I have since changed the return air on my furnace to recirculate existing air from the house through a common intake located in the living room, central to the house. My concern was the possible lack of air coming out of the bedroom where this is happening. I have cut the door down to allow a 1-1/2 inch gap when closed in order to allow air to circulate.
3. Also in the area of this “sweating” the crawl space vent is on the north wall. I plan on closing off and insulating also.
Is it all of these things or only a couple? I have had the block blown in with an expandable foam product approximately 5 years ago. I think the block is adequately insulated.. Any ideas???

I have a small space home that is currently carpet (living room) and vinyl flooring in kitchen. I hate carpet and am going to have laminate wood flooring put in, I was also going to have it run into the kitchen…would this be odd?

I have a 435 sf room laid with sheet vinyl that reeks of cat. I need to pull it up, but I am concerned that it might have asbestos backing. Can you tell from the style how old it is? Here is a photo of the floor:

I also pried up a small piece of the floor to see if I could tell if it was asbestos backed. I know lab testing would be more conclusive, but can you tell from these photos whether asbestos might be present?

I’m hopping on Al Gore’s jet instead of taking my own on my next vacation. We all know HIS jet is excluded from any global warming controversy.
Okay, I’m being funny – I know you just got your panties all up in a bunch, so take a minute to re-adjust, it’s okay, take a deep breath and try to see the humor in life.
Seriously, the more people scream global wamring, don’t you just want to tune it out even more? Makes me want to go make some toast right now actually. For those of you who don’t understand that remark, it’s been said that toasters cause global warming. Oh yeah, I’m gonna order me up a nice big steak too – cuz we all know cows contribute to global warming.
C’mon, who is brave enough to admit they support global warming too?? For those of you who still are all angry and insistent upon insulting me, I personally use fluorescent lightbulbs, DON’T drive an SUV, am a pretty conscious consumer, i’m putting bamboo floors in my house. I DO belive this is just a political game
