Are There Any Waterproof Flooring Options That Are Environmentally Friendly?

Author: I was thinking about vinyl/resilient flooring, but it doesn’t appear to be safe for the environment which is a turnoff. I need something that can survive dogs and occasional fish tank overflows. Would linoleum (not to be confused with vinyl) hold up to that? I’d also prefer something that doesn’t need professional installation (I’ve heard that ceramic tile is a nightmare to install yourself).

Are There Any Environmentally Friendly Carpets Out There?
Need to replace my stinky living room carpet, ruined by pet urine, tried cleaning it and nothing works. Has anyone tried an environmentally friendly carpet? Hardwood floor leads up to the carpet, so I can’t go with bamboo or anything because it’d look weird to have two different woods in the same area. The room is probably 8′x16′.
What Kind Of Flooring Should I Get That Is Dog Friendly?
Between our dogs, our foster dogs, our kids and a leaking 55 gallon aquarium over the last three years our livingroom carpet has been completely destroyed. We want to remove the carpet and put something else (not carpet or tile) down through the livingroom, kitchen/dining area and hallway.
I’ve read that bamboo is really, really soft, hardwood scratches easily and laminate flooring won’t stand up to moisture.
Any recommendations? My dogs are 1 and almost three and I have two year old twins. I can’t wait 10 years to replace this disgusting carpet. I’ve already had it professionally cleaned, it looked great and once it dried all the stains came back.
Environmentally Friendly Energy Efficient House?
We are in the process of building a new home. I’ve opted for the bamboo floors, energy star appliances, front load washer/dryer, programmable thermostat etc. is there anything else I can do to make my home more environmentally friendly and energy efficient? Thank you!

Please Help!!! What Are Some Eco Friendly Ideas For Flooring?
I am buying a ranch (about 1800 sq.ft.) in Georgia and will need to replace the carpet. I am looking for eco friendly options that will not cost a ridiculous amount. I was looking for bamboo flooring, but it looks like it is going to cost about $6 a sq.ft. installed and I cannot afford that. Does anyone know if ceramic or porcelin floors are eco friendly or better than putting in hardwoods or new carpet. Please help!!!
2 Questions On Bamboo Flooring: 1) Is It Pet Friendly? 2) Is It Cold In The Winter?
Pet issues: We gave 3 dogs and 1 cat.
Insulation issues: We’ll be pujtting it down over concrete slab. Will the cold radiate through the floor in the winter?
