Hoow Do You Clean Vinyl Floors?

Cheapest Way To Do Hard Wood Floors?
My mom is opening up a little store that is about 300 square feet (20×15). It is in need of serious renovation. This is going to be my first real design project (I’m a student studying interior design) but I need a little help.
We are very tight on money and I wanted to know the best way to do the floors. We want to do hardwood, specifically reclaimed or bamboo. I am going to try Craig’s list and such but i need some more ideas please.

Dark And Light Wood Floors…?
We recently bought a house that has carpet in the living room and laminate wood floors in the kitchen. We recently found out there are great hardwood floors under the carpet in the living room. The kitchen floors are really light, almost like a bamboo or pine finish, and the living room floors are darker. They are still under the carpet so I don’t know what the finish is. If we have them refinished, can we get them finished lighter? If not, are there any suggestions for how to transition from the lighter to the darker wood? The only places the floors join is a doorway, so it’s not a large spot where you’d see both wood colors.

What would be the best option for the least amount of money? Im doing a space thats about 300 square feet.
Very tight on money. What floors are cheap but good quality? I dont want vynil or any of that crap. Wood, bamboo, concrete, tile, etc.

How Can I Get The Yellowing Out Of My Vinyl/linoleum Floors?
I’ve only had my vinyl and linoleum floors a short time but they are yellowing badly.I’ve used all kinds of cleaners,but I can’t brighten them.I want to know if there’s some kind of cleaner or something i could do to remove the yellowing,and bring back a newer clean look.

It seems like what ever I use, I’m always left with a clean but sticky residue on my kitchen floors. Any tips on what to use to keep that ’sticky-ness’ from happening?

How Can I Make Vinyl Floors From Being Slippery?
I have vinyl tiles in my kitchen and its so slippery that I slid on them so extremely that I almost fell. I wash them all the time with different cleaning agents, yet I can’t get rid of the slipperiness. I’m ready to use sandpaper!!

Is Carpet A Better Insulator Than Hardwood Floors, And If So, By How Much?
I am preparing to purchase a home and I want to remove or replace the carpets on the first and part of the second floor. Many people have suggested going with hard wood because of the aesthetic value.
I enjoy hard wood floors and carpet equally, but I think most people tend to want carpet in living rooms and such, and I want my home to feel accomodating to others. I also read somewhere that carpet was a good insulator to help cut a little off of heating costs… is there any truth to that?
