Should I Bother Getting New Bathroom Flooring? Or Should I Wait?

Author: We are preparing the walls so we can paint them and we will need to install new baseboard and window trim. Currently we have old vinyl flooring which is ugly, which was applied over another old vinyl flooring. I am hoping to get a new cabinet, sinks, fixtures, and toilet in 5 yrs probably, which is when I would get nice flooring like stone, porceline, or ceramic tile. Should I get new temporary vinyl flooring (either a sheet or tiles), or just wait another 5 yrs until I get the good stuff? Would cost a min. of $100 for a sheet of vinyl.
Can I Use Vinyl Flooring On My Kitchen Counter Tops As A Temporary Fix?
We recently purchased a home that needs extensive remodel work. The first is my kitchen (had to buy a new stove for the island). We need to replace the existing counter top. My problem is that we need to do it now. I thought I saw something on t.v. on using vinyl square tiles on a kitchen counter top. If that could be done, I could have my kitchen up and running. Now, this is just a temporary, quick fix. Possibly using the vinyl counter top for about a year. After that it’s demolishing time and a complete remodel. Thank you!

Can You Install Vinyl Flooring Without Glue?
I’m renting an apartment, and as a student I can’t afford anything great. The place I found is nice over all, but the bathroom is.. blah.
I’ve fixed the caulking around the tub, but the flooring is REALLY bugging me. However, installing new flooring could result in my loosing my damage deposit.
Since the floor is already beat up I’m not worried about having to nail or anything, but glue would mean there’d be no way to take the flooring back up.
Is this even worth doing? I know it won’t be correct, but will it work well enough
How Should I Best Go About Laying Vinyl Sheet Flooring Over An Mdf Floor? Vinyl Is Not Cushioned?
My husband and I are pretty new to the whole DIY and are not to sure how to go about this. I have read that if the vinyl is not cushioned you need to use adhesive. What am I looking for and what is it called? Also the MDF we want to lay on is our ‘floor’. We have an 85+ year old house with some dodgy floors, all a bit slopey in the 70’s addition of the house. As it is impossible to get willing tradies where we live we put joists on top of our wonky floorboards and installed a new floor of 15mm MDF. Please tell me we can put adhesive on this. All answers greatly appreciated as we are in the throes of it as I type.

How Much Should I Charge To Install 1,000 Sq Ft Of Laminate Flooring?
I will have to take out approximately 800 sq ft of carpet and some vinyl floor as well. It will be installed over concrete floors, I am not going to level the floor. I have specific instructions not to worry about that. There is some furniture to move. Any ideas of the cost would be greatly appreciated.
