My living room / dining room walls are olive green, light tan sofa (with light tan pillows and two black pillows that I added recently), bamboo blinds, ecru curtains, oak hardwood floors. My large TV console/bookcase is espresso brown (black-brown), two chairs are black wood & espresso leather seats, and end tables are black metal and dark brown wood. It’s pared down in the aspect of having very little clutter (photos, vases, trinkets, etc.) sitting around. It’s all very earthy-looking and I like it.
I want to paint my old coffee table, dining room table & buffet, but not sure if I should paint them espresso brown or black. Painting the tables and buffet espresso brown seems ’safer’ than going with black. Am I just being a sissy about the black? Any suggestions?

We recently bought a house that has carpet in the living room and laminate wood floors in the kitchen. We recently found out there are great hardwood floors under the carpet in the living room. The kitchen floors are really light, almost like a bamboo or pine finish, and the living room floors are darker. They are still under the carpet so I don’t know what the finish is. If we have them refinished, can we get them finished lighter? If not, are there any suggestions for how to transition from the lighter to the darker wood? The only places the floors join is a doorway, so it’s not a large spot where you’d see both wood colors.

People info: Fun loving young couple looking to freshen up our first condo (currently with a light peanut butter paint everywhere, yuk!).

We were thinking a creamy taupe mixed with either a burgundy red, dark chocolate, or gold tone. If we do select a red, I was thinking a white crown moulding would be the only way to go..The GF wants both the red and the chocolate, but I fear this will turn the room into a cave… Help….

My bedroom has a dark green carpet, light green wall, no curtains yet, what curtain and conforter set color would work?(the color of the bed and the dresser is wood dark brown)

We just purchased a house and I some tips in decoration. The carpet is green and the wall is i think light cream. We have sectional couch which is ligth brown and even our blinds are brown. This is our living room by the way. I not sure what’s goes with this color. I want to put some throw pillows and stuff on the table. Please help.

I wanted to repaint my room and I would like to keep the carpet that I have. What color wall paint would be a good way to balance the purple carpet out? The molding is pure white and the carpet is a medium-light purple outlining the carpet and a darker purple on the inside. I am a teenager but I would like to keep it elegant but fun, if possible. I have a dark blue carpet in my entire apt. but i dont know what color to paint my walls.I want a warm color. I am not going to change the carpet but I would like colors to match it. It is a large space. I have a den, living room, and dinning room (they are all somewhat connected) and i would like to have different colors that blend nicely.

I have read Bamboo flooring is better for the environment but the cost to transport it is not can any one help I need more info.

I am interested in painting my room. I have dark green carpet and curtains. My dresser is dark wooden brown and I have 2 pieces of furniture that are cream with gold trim and my bed frame is black metal.

I just bought samboca (black/dark) bamboo floors,for my front entryway, stairs, kitchen, living & dinning room. Now I am freaking out. Will this show every footprint? I took out one panel from the box and saw my fingerprints all over it. I am nervouse that this will show to much dirt & footprints? Especial when the sun hits the floor. I love the color & the material, but before I put it in, should I do this? I am doing half my house, am I crazy to put dark woodflooring in?
