I have a small bedroom, 10′x14′, which will be used as an office with lots of pine furniture and has a bamboo style laminate floor. I will be repainting the walls and would like to go with a burgundy color as I have seen some (few) pictures with these together and they seem elegant.
I tried a nice medium green and the color was great and worked well with the pine, but it didn’t give the office feel I was looking for.
Does anyone have any specific color suggestions (and why) especially along the burgundy/maroon color. If you can link me to any pictures that would be 10 times better!

We have 1″ cobalt tiles in the shower, white cabs w/ opaque glass doors, & white tile floors with gray grout. We are up for changing our floors, possibly to the TrafficMaster allure vinyl “bamboo”. We have red and tan in the rest of the house. Love darker colors.

People info: Fun loving young couple looking to freshen up our first condo (currently with a light peanut butter paint everywhere, yuk!).

One low light wall W/O windows
One wall with fireplace (pending final design/color scheme) and corner window.
One wall with an average sized window and a large sliding glass door
Current room furnishings/colors:
We have a slate couch from Eq3 Morten Sectional)
Light bamboo floors.
White trim
We were thinking a creamy taupe mixed with either a burgundy red, dark chocolate, or gold tone. If we do select a red, I was thinking a white crown moulding would be the only way to go..The GF wants both the red and the chocolate, but I fear this will turn the room into a cave… Help….

I also painted the cabinets in a distressed look.I bought this very pretty slate tile to put as a back splash, and it has beautiful colors in it, like pinks, yellows and a lot of grey. My question is what should I paint the walls now?, I tried a light grey, but it looks lavender. I also have a dark grey floor paint for the floors, but I’m thinking now of just letting the floor be the wood that is there already. Please help me, I am so use to light pretty colors, so I feel kind of lost with these darker colors.
My counter tops were made by my husband. They are a honey maple wood.

We are painting our living/dining room. The overall theme of the house will be harlem renaissance meets palm beach chic. The major color scheme will have chocolate brown/gray//bronze with punches of orange/red/purple/sage through out the house. I want a warm, sultry and sensuous feeling that flows beginning with our living/dining room. This a great room with 2 windows at one end of the room that faces a large window at the other end. We will also be replacing the door that leads to the deck with a single french door. There will be plenty of light in the room. The room also has a stone fireplace. I am at a dilema as to what color to put on the wall. We have wainscoting (it will have to stay). What color should I paint the wall? I do not want white wainscoting. I have that now and hate it. Our floors will be a dark walnut wood (possibly bamboo) floor. I am all for dark and dramatic. This room has to sing since we will be putting on the market in the next two years and it will be a feature room in the house.

My bedroom has a dark green carpet, light green wall, no curtains yet, what curtain and conforter set color would work?(the color of the bed and the dresser is wood dark brown)

We just purchased a house and I some tips in decoration. The carpet is green and the wall is i think light cream. We have sectional couch which is ligth brown and even our blinds are brown. This is our living room by the way. I not sure what’s goes with this color. I want to put some throw pillows and stuff on the table. Please help.

I wanted to repaint my room and I would like to keep the carpet that I have. What color wall paint would be a good way to balance the purple carpet out? The molding is pure white and the carpet is a medium-light purple outlining the carpet and a darker purple on the inside. I am a teenager but I would like to keep it elegant but fun, if possible. Thanks for your help. (Points will be rewarded to the best answer.)
