How Do You Clean Black Tile/carpet Adhesive Off Of A Concrete Floor?

Author: I recently pulled up an old carpet from our basement that was covering old tile. The black glue/adhesive from the flooring is on the floor. Most of the heavy stuff is scraped up and the black that is still on there comes off on your socks or shoes but doesnt wash off well with amonia..Any other suggestions?
