I’ve tried EVERYTHING – bleach cleaners, disinfectants… what will get rid of this? Nothing? If not – how do I deal with my rental company to get them to replace it? Do rental companies allow you to split costs? I’ve done nothing unusual that would have damaged the flooring – I thought it might have been mold/mildew, but since nothing is taking away the black color I’m at a loss.

It looks like they’re surrounded by areas that have become discolored, almost like they’re perpetually wet, like the light wood floor is now a shade of damp brown color. This is kinda around the edges of the wood where they’re adjacent to the other hardwood plank.
I live in an apartment. Is this serious enough of an issue to call the manager/facilities staff to replace the hardwood floor, or at least take a look at it?
I hope it’s not fungal spores, and that I could become sick from it. It’s right near my dining room table.
Oh, and these black spotty spore-things appeared on the stalks of my potted bamboo plant a few months ago. So I threw it out. It was gross. I didn’t know what it was, but they had appeared.

My living room / dining room walls are olive green, light tan sofa (with light tan pillows and two black pillows that I added recently), bamboo blinds, ecru curtains, oak hardwood floors. My large TV console/bookcase is espresso brown (black-brown), two chairs are black wood & espresso leather seats, and end tables are black metal and dark brown wood. It’s pared down in the aspect of having very little clutter (photos, vases, trinkets, etc.) sitting around. It’s all very earthy-looking and I like it.
I want to paint my old coffee table, dining room table & buffet, but not sure if I should paint them espresso brown or black. Painting the tables and buffet espresso brown seems ’safer’ than going with black. Am I just being a sissy about the black? Any suggestions?

I recently pulled up an old carpet from our basement that was covering old tile. The black glue/adhesive from the flooring is on the floor. Most of the heavy stuff is scraped up and the black that is still on there comes off on your socks or shoes but doesnt wash off well with amonia..Any other suggestions?

This is for the kitchen…We are going to paint the walls a rich tan called “cashmere”. The cabinets are being stained a deep red cherry color and the floors are bamboo that have the same color as the cabinets as well as dark striations in it. We are looking at doing a corian counter top with a beige theme. All the appliances are black.
The kitchen is large and open and the flooring is going into the adjacent room that will be painted a chocolate color, this is a game room/family room and it is also very large.
So the question is, what do you think about painting the trim in the kitchen BLACK? we really want some input on this. the rest of the house has cashmere paint and WHITE trim. The family room will be chocolate with white trim. we have been debating every aspect of this kitchen for months and it is getting tiresome.
We have brushed nickle hardware if that means anything to you and lots of windows.

I’ve already tried goo gone, soap and water my floor is like a plastic

I have a bamboo floor in my bathroom and it has turned black under the bath mat -I’m assuming from water damage. The black seems to be ingrained into the wood – it almost looks burnt! No amount of scrubbing seems to be able to remove it. Has anyone seen this before and been able to remove it? I’m renting and dont want to replace the floor!

Have tried some goopy floor stuff; rotating sander; and acetone.

I recently built a new large home and made the mistake of listening to my interior designer and choose black bamboo hardwood floors in many areas of the home. I agree it looks beautiful when clean but it is so hard to clean and it seems to scratch easy even though its supposed to be commercial grade. Any suggestions on how to maintain or clean a black floor like this?
