New Flooring In The Basement… Hardwood, Vinyl, Laminate…??

Author: What would be best for my finished basement? Some have told me that you can not put hardwood in a basement and some have said you can… what would be best? Does vinyl/laminate look bad? help! I’m not sure if the floor is perfectly level, I wont know that until we take out the old carpet…
I’m Going To Tile My Basement. The Existing Vinyl Floor (c.1960) Is Impossible To Remove. What Do I Do?
The subfloor is a concrete slab. The floor is covered as follows: 50% untreated. 25% painted. 25% covered with old old old vinyl with black goo to stick it to the concrete.

Can I Install Hardwood Flooring In My Basement Area?
I just recently picked up a batch of Armstrong red oak hardwood flooring for a fantastic deal – enough to cover the space in my entry way at the basement level of my townhouse. Unfortunately, I’ve heard it shouldn’t be done due to moisture issues. Is this so? I considered (to keep the moisture locked out) leaving the existing vinyl floor (it’s literally a part of the concrete floor it’s so well attached) and laying right over it. I’m aware there’s an adhesive I need, regardless. Can anybody offer up some suggestions? Thanks!
Best Type Of Flooring For A Basement That Might Get Water 1-2 Per Year?
Our basement only gets water rarely, and if so, not very much. We wanted to put some indoor/outdoor carpet down there, or maybe vinyl flooring… what do you suggest?
We’d like to use it as a family room… for my young son… maybe a toy room with an extra tv and couch.

I am in the process of getting my basement finish. I would like to know what color should i paint the walls and what type of carpet would go well. I was thinking of like a slate blue for the walls and gray/blue berber carpet. tell me what you think. Or should i just go with the safe white walls beige carpet? What Would The Approx Cost Of Carpet Be For A 660 Square Foot Basement With The Carpet Pad Included?
We are going to be getting quotes here shortly, and I wanted to have a number in mind that this should be around. We aren’t going for top of the line, but we don’t want junk either. What thickness should we get for the carpet pad as well? Also, we are not at all interested in burber, so thats not even in the equation.

What Kind Of Carpet Would You Recommend For Basement?
We finished our basement and would like to carpet it. It will be used as a playroom for 2 young boys. Been researching all about carpets and just don’t know what to do. Any recommendations? My husband wants to do carpet so it’s softer and warmer for the kids.
