A Stair Carpet Guide & Carpet On Stairs
Stair Carpet – Carpet On Stairs
When choosing Carpet On Stairs it is always in your best interest to go for a ‘heavy domestic’ rating. All stair carpets come with a suitability rating and heavy domestic is always advised on hall stairs and landings.
There are many ranges of carpets that you will find suitable for your needs and requirements. We stock and sell 80/20 wool twist pile carpets, heavy grade polypropylene twists, wilton pattern carpets, loop pile cord, berber carpet etc. We are more than happy to advise you on suitability and to help with your requirements.
Velvet pile carpets tend not to be advised on stairs due to the flaterning effect which is common amongst this type of carpet. Also we would not advise shag pile carpets on stair cases unless the pile weight is high and the tuffs are very tight and close together.
If you like the look of a normal pile carpet then choose a ‘twist’ pile carpet as these do not have high pile lengths and are also tightly together giving dense wearing for high traffic areas. If you prefer pattern carpets then a wilton carpet would be suitable on your staircase.
If you like the look and feel of a natural carpet then we would advise a wool or non wool heavy domestic berber or loop pile carpet which come in weave type designs.
Why not take a look at our ranges on our website, all of which state the suitability rating in the product information page. We have heavy domestic stair carpet to suit all budgets, £5 -£10 per square meter carpets, £10 – £15 per square meter carpets, £15 + per square meter carpets and budget ranges too which have the heavy domestic rating.
