HOW TO FIT CUSHION FLOOR VINYL
To Fit Cushion Floor Vinyl First make sure sub floor is smooth, dry and clean. Roll out vinyl to area thats being installed, being careful not to put any creases into the vinyl flooring. When laid out cut down any waste using a straight stanley blade leaving 10 cms around whole perimeter.
Then using a hooked cutting stanley blade, cut vinyl down pushing lighly against the wall and moving slowly accross the wall. Do not try to cut perfect right away, this is number one mistake, just keep going around perimeter until your cut is just slightly (less than 1mm) short of the wall, this allows for any movement or expansion.
Its important to be patient with your cutting when laying Vinyl cushion flooring as its very easy to cut short if rushed. Finally seal perimeter with clear silicone to stop water getting underneath vinyl flooring, also this will hide small gap for expansion/movement.
Some people stick down their vinyl’s all over, this is only needed if high traffic area or wheel chair access is being used. You can also glue just perimeter using Vinyl spray adhesive which we sell at our store.
Loose laying cushion floor vinyl is the prefered fitting method for us as if there is a problem with expansion or movement, or even a problem thats needs rectifying then its easy to solve and lift the vinyl.
