You can’t… it will have gone into the backing of the carpet and into the undercarpet…. and it may even have sunk into the flooring if it’s wood. You need to take up the carpet and the undercarpet… sorry…. know you didn’t want to hear this…. But if you don’t do it, it’ll just keep getting worse…
Resolve Carpet cleaner should work !
1) Nature’s Miracle. This stuff is usually available in pet stores, and does a great job taking any bodily fluid-type smells and stains out.
2) Vinegar. Mix it 50/50 with water, saturate the carpet, and blot it up.
3) Baking soda. Once you’ve done one of the first two, if it still smells a bit, sprinkle baking soda on the carpet and let it sit for about an hour before you vacuum it up.
An old trick is sprinkling baking soda on the stains and dampening it and leaving it for a bit before scrubbing it out,
another good way is to go to the local grocery store or a Store like Wal-mart and Sears and buying Carpet cleaner or carpet powder for cat or dog urine. That stuff will work wonders.
Look for a pet soil cleaner. Woolite has one that works great. I think it’s called Oxygen + or something like that. You might also try one of those steam cleaners with Bissell’s Pet Soil cleaning formula. You can rent a steam cleaner at Home Depot and some grocery stores as well as other hardware stores. You can also buy your own for about $200 which will save you money over the long run. The Bissell is great. Good luck.
first i would say that you should lay a towel there at night to prevent fututre problems we put tape on the floor so our child knew where to stand and it worked…
getting the urine out is not easy but i have had that problem when he fell asleep on the floor…
get a wet dry vac and soke the area with hot water and cleaner..carpet and i use one for the order as well…make sure the cleaner for the carpet is a pet cleaner..they have different chemicals to get out pet urine and scrub the area and vac up the water at the same time so the area is always wet but never really getting completely flooded and soaking the enitre carpet area you will have to do this a few times..but then once done use frebreze to spray on carpet to help with the smell…you can no longer smell the urine on my carpet
I cleaned my carpets today because my two year old daughter has been potty training and doesn’t always make it to the toilet. I borrowed a Bissell Powersteamer from a friend and bought a bottle of cleaning solution for it at Wal-Mart made specifically for urine and tough odors I even purchased the “generic” Wal-Mart brand of cleaner!). It is more geared toward pet urine but it worked great. I got down on my hands and knees and smelled it after it dried and it smelled so fresh! I was so impressed with this machine that I have asked for one for Mother’s Day….they are $118 at Wal-Mart which is about what I would pay to have my living and dining room carpet professionally cleaned. It also got out tough stains that regular carpet cleaners were unable to remove. Good luck!
I saw a product on one of those J M L stands it was to take urine smells out of carpets i am in England and i saw it in Woolworth’s sometimes the Q V C do that sort of thing
good luck
change the padding then clean both sides of the carpet with an enzyme that eats fatty acids and you might want to seal the sub floor with a kilz type paint or sealant.
don’t use resolve
and you might not have to change the carpet unless its an on going problem
